We Are The Ones (WATO): Redefining Support for Black and Brown Women
At Flip The Table 4 Equity, we believe in turning adversity into opportunity and creating intentional solutions to dismantle systemic inequities. As part of this mission, we’re proud to introduce We Are The Ones (WATO)—a game changing initiative born from resilience, healing, and the unwavering belief that real change begins with us.
WATO is more than a program; it’s a movement. Designed with a “by us, for us” ethos, WATO addresses the unique challenges faced by Black and Brown women navigating life, workplace, and entrepreneurial hardships. Through community-crowdsourced loans, strategic partnerships, and holistic support services, WATO empowers women to reclaim their power, rewrite their stories, and achieve their dreams.
What WATO Stands For:
- Equity in Action: WATO challenges systemic failures that disproportionately impact Black and Brown women, offering intentional, tailored support instead of one-size-fits-all solutions.
- Sustainable Change: We connect women to resources that help them thrive—mentally, financially, and professionally—while fostering long-term success.
- Community-Driven Impact: WATO builds partnerships with like-minded organizations, funders, and advocates to expand its reach and deepen its impact.
Why WATO?
WATO is deeply personal. It’s inspired by the challenges I faced as a Black woman and mother navigating workplace discrimination and systemic barriers—and by the incredible community of support that helped me rise again. Together with my daughter, Jaiya Devi, and a sisterhood of allies, I’ve seen firsthand how intentional support can transform lives. WATO replicates and expands this model, creating a lifeline for women who need it most.

WATO is just one of the many initiatives driving change through FTT4E. As we grow, our goal is to continue fostering innovative, community-centered programs that fuel equity, resilience, and empowerment.

Equipping women with legal recourse options and defense advocacy to challenge workplace discrimination and wrongful termination, empowering them to reclaim their rights and dignity.

Offering trauma-informed care to address the deep psychological wounds caused by systemic inequities, while fostering resilience and pathways to healing.
Education.
Empowering career transitions and educational advancement, enabling women to reclaim agency over their lives and confidently shape their futures.

Navigating life’s intricate fabric, choices unfold paths to the extraordinary, demanding creativity, curiosity, and courage for a truly fulfilling journey.

Creating pathways to financial independence through personalized career coaching, entrepreneurial support, and skill development for a changing workforce.
